ABC's of Possible Eye Trouble



  • Crossed Eyes
  • Red rimmed, encrusted or swollen eyelids
  • Inflamed or watery eyes
  • Recurring styes )infections) on the eyelids


  • Rubs eyes excessively
  • Shuts or covers one eye
  • Tilts head or thrusts head forward to see
  • Has difficulty with reading or other close-up work
  • Holds object close to eyes
  • Blinks more than usual when trying to see
  • Is irritable when doing close-up work
  • Is unable to see distant thigns clearly
  • Squints or frowns when trying to see


  • Eyes itch, burn, or feel scratchy
  • Cannot see well
  • Dizziness, headache, or nausea after close-up work
  • Blurred or double vision
If your child has one or more of these problems, you should have your child's eyes examined by an eye care professional.
